Obituary of Hildegard (Hilda) JAEGER

January 8, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hilda Jaeger of Calgary, AB on Friday, January 8, 2021 at the age of 79 years.

Hilda was born in Ehrenhau, Germany. She immigrated to Canada with her family in the mid 1950’s, where she later married Walter and raised a family. Hilda was energetic and enjoyed helping other people. She had many friends who loved her and will miss her genuine, warm friendship. Over the years, Hilda had a dry-cleaning business, and a deli, and was employed for many years in her most cherished position with the Calgary School Board. Unlike most people, she had a passion for cleaning.

Hilda is survived by her sons, Harvey (Ann) and Ron; and grandsons, Kaelen (Courtney) and Bradley. She is also survived by her sister Ruth Schwarz, sister-in-law Rose Batke, and special niece and nephew, Marlene Schwarz and Ken Schwarz; along with several relatives in Germany. Hilda was predeceased by her father and mother, Gustav and Julianna Batke; and her brothers, Gustav and Wilhelm.
