January 9, 2021 – Canmore, Alberta

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Ena, Doreen Simeon was called home by our creator on Saturday January 9, 2021 at the age of 85.

Doreen was born the fourth child of six children to Eunice and Paul Mark on May 17, 1935 in mini-thni (Morley, AB). She will be remembered for her sweet, gentle nature. She has always been an amazing, forgiving, kind, inspirational person to all who knew her. She went through trials and tribulations as we are all convicted during this human life and we have so much faith that she has earned her place with our savior and our creator in marpiya to rejoice the reunion with her loved ones who have gone before her.

Ena, is a descendant and great-granddaughter of Chief John Cheneka who signed Treaty 7 in 1877 on her maternal side and a descendant and great-granddaughter of Siktogeja Baha Hinape (Wolf Appears Over the Horizon), a brave Nakoda Warrior on her paternal side.
She was very proud of where she came from. The family would like to acknowledge and thank everyone who has shown kindness and respect to our Ena.

Doreen leaves behind her loving Family whom she cherished: son Jarvis (Lawana), daughter, Renetta, grandchildren she helped raise, Teresa, Tysa, Carlene (Tony), Leon, Corwin, Dwight, Derwin, Blair and her baby Rico; grandsons, Clint (Felicia), Coy, Preston, Cameron, Bailey; granddaughters, Fawn, Larissa (Harry), Jessica (Carl), and Sakova; twenty-three beloved great grandchildren; adopted daughters, Carly House, Ruth Yellowface, and Cynthia Wesley; adopted granddaughters, Tiffany (Nilan) and Raevyn; brother Charlie (Cassie) Mark, special cousins dearest to her, Winnie Simeon and Helene Chiniquay; sisters-in-law, Helen Chiniquay and Alice Kaquitts.
