Obituary of Jim DUXBURY

December 30, 2020 - High River, Alberta

Jim Duxbury of High River, AB, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the age of 71 years.

Jim was born in Calgary, AB and grew up there.  He spent his summers on the beaches of Chestemere Lake.   The Duxbury’s put a tent peg in High River in 1969 when they began running a poultry farm and their descendants have been here ever since.  James married Carol and moved to Ft. Saskatchewan.  Here he completed his first of a few degrees and joined the Fish and Wildlife Department. His first son Matthew was also born in 1975.  He moved his family to White Rock where he worked for the Federal Fisheries.  He then chose to follow his heart and went to Bible College to become a Pastor.  Lucas his second son was born in 1979.  After graduating the family moved back to High River.  Jim Pastored in High River and then planted the Full Gospel Church in Nanton.  His daughter Amara was born in 1982 and his second daughter Kalyse was born in 1986.  Jim then went to SAIT and obtained a Safety Specialist Degree and started working overseas.

He retired in 2013 and returned to the farm life and began Blazing Hearts Ranch near Aldersyde.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children Matthew (Jennifer), Lucas (Jennifer), Amara (Danny) and Kalyse (Bobby); and his beloved grandchildren, Barrett, Madison and Caleb.  He also leaves behind his sisters, Cheryl (Mike) and Coral as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. James was predeceased by his parents Jim and June Duxbury.
