Obituary of Patricia Opal ECKERT (nee Pennington)

January 12, 1926 - Lucky Lake, Saskatchewan

January 19, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Patricia Eckert passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at the age of 95 years.

Growing up she spent time in Lucky Lake and San Anton. Patricia was one of nine children, because she came from a large family she loved everything to do with them. She often said her fondest memories were made at family reunions wither her own or her husband’s her favorite times were spent with family.

She had several roles over the years; she was a hotel manager, assisted with homecare for 20 years and was a driving instructor.

She was a Member of the United Church, a member Dawson Creek Legion and the Co-op.

Patricia had a great weakness for maraschino cherry chocolates, whenever she was asked what she would like it was her first request for a special treat. She enjoyed curling in her younger years and later on enjoyed it as a spectator. Two songs that brought a smile to her face were The Rose of San Anton and I’ll give you a Daisy a day dear.

Patricia is survived by two sons, Lee and Dean; her daughter Laurena; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her older brother Rex Pennington; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Patricia was predeceased by her first husband Roy Morrow on July 5, 1997, and her second husband Ernie Erckert in August 2001; seven siblings; and her children, Doug and Peggy.
