Obituary of Zofia (Sophia) Jadwiga IZIENICKI (nee Jezieniecki)

March 23, 1923 – Lwow, Poland
January 25, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Zofia (Sophia) Izienicki of Calgary, AB passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021, at the age of 97 years.  

Mom will be remembered for her love of life, music, kindness, and generosity. She was deeply rooted in her Catholic faith which was evident in how she lived her life. She was a dedicated member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Polish Catholic Church and remained steadfast in upholding her Polish culture and traditions. 

Sophia was the loving, graceful, devoted and dear mother of one daughter, Margaret (Malgosia) of Calgary, AB.  She is also survived by her dear niece and her husband, Aleksandra (Olenka) and Wiesiek, their children, Kasia and Piotrus, the extended family in Poland, and several cousins in Buenos Aires and Toronto.  

Sophia was predeceased by her husband Kazimierz in 1994, her parents, Maria and Wojciech; brother Bronislaw, and two sisters, Elzbieta and Aleksandra.

Rest in peace Mom, your work on Earth is done.  You’ll be forever in our hearts.
