Obituary of Arnie CHAMBERLAIN

December 20, 1950 – Toronto, Ontario
January 20, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Arnie Chamberlain, beloved husband of Carolyn Driscoll (nee Mahon), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the age of 70 years.

Arnie was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on December 20, 1950.

He moved to Alberta, Canada in 1981.

Arnie graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelors of Arts and Emmanuel College with a Masters of Divinity in 1977. He became a United Church minister in 1977.

Arnie met his wife Carolyn in 2000.

As a United Church minister he found incredible fulfillment supporting and guiding his congregation, taking missions all over Canada, before eventually becoming a Chaplain at Carewest where he would comfort and support the residents there.

Arnie had an incredible passion for all of life, but especially loved old classic movies, trains, swimming, animals, singing in the Fanning and Carewest Royal Park Choirs, and spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren.

He will be most remembered for his joy of life, passion for helping people, and his boundless energy.

Besides his loving wife Carolyn Driscoll (Mahon), Arnie is survived by his two sons and two daughters-in-law, Ryan (Theresa) Chamberlain of Calgary, AB and Michael (Jessica) Chamberlain of Calgary, AB; two grandchildren, Oliver Chamberlain and Amelia Chamberlain of Calgary, AB. He was stepfather to Carolyn's four children, Mark, Angelina, Matti, and Joel.

Arnie is also survived by his two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Ron (Wanda) Chamberlain of Toronto, ON; Tom (Zabia) Chamberlain of Gatineau, QC; two  sisters and two brothers-in-law, Dorothy (Tom) Hicks of Toronto, ON; Marg (Carey) Bawn of Croydon, ON; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Arnie was predeceased by his parents, Harold Chamberlain and Helen Margaret (Bush) Chamberlain.
