Obituary of Corporal Norman Phillip COLE

November 10, 1952 – Halifax, Nova Scotia
January 26, 2021 - Calgary, Alberta

Corporal Norman Cole, beloved husband of Margaret, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the age of 68 years.

Norman graduated from Graham Creighton High School in Eastern Passage, NS. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for thirty-eight years, and was a current member of the RCL Bowness Branch 238. Among other trades, Norm served for twenty-three years with the Armed Forces and retired as a Supply Technician 911. Norman had a passion for the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, camping and wild horse racing. He was particularly proud of his accomplishments in Wild Horse Racing after he and his team won a buckle at age sixty-five. During Stampede he could often be found flipping pancakes at the opening Stampede Breakfast. Norman loved cooking for friends and family, and was known for his sausage making. Norman will be remembered most for his sense of humour, knowledge of the outdoors, and fabulous meals.

Norm is survived by his loving wife Margaret, her son Scott (Becky) and their children, whom Norm thought of as his own grand-children, Henry, Madeline, and Elise; as well as his two brothers, Keith (Susan) and Gary (Allyse); and his beloved Pomeranian Kiki. Norman was predeceased by his parents, Edith and Philip Cole.
