Jeannette FERGUSON

Obituary of Jeannette Marie FERGUSON

April 29, 1941 - The Pas, Manitoba

January 16, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Jeannette Ferguson (nee Chaboyer), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday,  January 16, 2021 at the age of 79 years.

Jeannette was born in The Pas, Manitoba, Canada on April 29, 1941.

She moved to Brandon, Manitoba in 1973 and then later to Calgary, Alberta, Canada, in 1992.

Jeannette loved being around her family to celebrate the holidays. Every Christmas, she would decorate the home and everyone praised her tree decorating which she would take her time doing to ensure every piece was matched and even on the tree. Her Christmas tree was never the same each year as she would go out and buy different color lights and ornaments. She also enjoyed baking daily and family and friends loved her baking. In her spare time, she was fond of doing puzzles and would donate her puzzles when she completed them.  She would buy Bingo scratch tickets weekly and would get so excited when she won.

Jeannette’s most memorable vacation was when she went camping. She loved the outdoors and spending that quiet time with her family. Just prior to her passing, she still laughed at how her and her daughter tried to make a fire and it smoldered heavily to the fellow campsites. Together her and her daughter, Lorraine, laughed about that situation over the years.

She will be most remembered for her strength, sense of humor and joking with others. She was a very strong woman fighting Cancer three times. You could not tell she was sick, as she was very strong in not showing it and she never let her sickness define her. She had a sense for making others comfortable in any situation. Not only did her family and friends enjoy your company, the physicians and nurses also. Anyone who crossed her path became her friend instantly.

Jeannette is survived by  two daughters and two sons-in-law, Kathy LeBlanc and Sheldon, Lorraine Chaboyer and Mark all of Calgary, Alberta; one son and one daughter-in-law, Victor Blake and Denise Blake of Minnesota, US.; seven grandchildren, Devin Ferguson of Calgary AB., James Chaboyer of Calgary, AB., Ryan Leblanc ofCalgary, AB., Brian Blake Jr of Minnesota, US, Jennifer Blake of Minnesota, US, Melissa Rempher of Minnesota, US, and Tasha Blake of  Minnesota, US; ten  great-grandchildren, four residing in Calgary, AB and six residing in the US.
