Obituary of Danette Louise LATTIN

November 13, 1959 – Kindersley, Saskatchewan
January 30, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Danette Louise Lattin (nee Seymour), beloved wife of Randy Lattin, of Calgary, AB, on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at home surrounded by her loved ones, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Danette was born on November 13, 1959 in Kindersley, SK. She called Calgary her home since 1969, when her family was transferred there for her dad’s work.

Danette spent much of her life living on a farm just southwest of the city. She enjoyed gardening, caring for the horses, cows and many cats and dogs that resided there, and most importantly spending time with her cherished family. Danette raised her three daughters on this farm and was steadfast in sharing her love, connection, and admiration of this beautiful land with her daughters and with her family in the city.

Danette was very proud of the career she built for herself in corporate insurance, and had many fond memories of working downtown with her colleagues.  An avid shopper with a love for fashion; she finished her career at Banana Republic which brought her much joy.

Danette will be remembered for the love she gave to all of her family and friends and for being a strong and nurturing caregiver. Much to the delight of her family and friends, she also had a love and talent for baking and cooking. She loved to share what she created in the kitchen with those closest to her and a testament to this is the special recipe book she created for her family. Danette always enjoyed spending time with her family; however, it was her grandchildren that brought her the most joy.

Danette is survived by her loving husband of fourteen years, Randy Lattin, their Bernese mountain dog, Bear, and her daughters, Virginia and Elizabeth Hervey, all from Calgary. She is also survived by her six wonderful grandchildren: Jaquelyn, Benson, Logan, Caleb, Wolfgang and Penelope; her sister Marla Frache (nee Seymour) and brother Michael Seymour (Jean); her six nieces and nephews, and her six great-nieces and nephews, as well as Virginia and Elizabeth’s father, Garry Hervey (Chandra). She had many other close extended family members, with special Aunties and cousins in Rosetown and Saskatoon, and had many, many close lifelong friends.  Danette was predeceased by her parents Mary Irene and Alfred Edward Seymour, her sister Patricia Anne Bensted (nee Seymour) and her beloved daughter, Amy Louise Hervey.

A private Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences, memories and photos can be shared and viewed here.
