Obituary of Violet Mary MARIN (nee Hinkel)

February 6, 1929 – St. Boniface, Manitoba
January 31, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with heavy hearts the family announces Violet Mary Marin (nee Hinkel) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at the age of 91 years. We will have a birthday celebration of her 92 years on Saturday, February 6, 2021.

Violet spent her life in dedication to her family. She always loved cooking and baking for family and friends. She cherished the friendship of bowling and lunching with the ladies. During her time working at the Calgary Board of Education she enjoyed the contact with the children. At age 72 she enrolled in Mount Royal University classes. She was a member of the Holy Name Parish. She served Communion over the years to many long term care residents. Violet enjoyed being an avid flower and vegetable gardener. She used her talented carpentry skills and was proud of her very own toolbox.

Violet is survived and mourned by her six children, Mark, Angie, Elena (Dan), Joe, Margie (Barb) and Vincent (Trina); seven grandchildren, Michelle, Lionel, Bonnie, Teresa, Melissa, Joey and Matthew; fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Violet was predeceased by her parents, Alexander and Julia, and her brother, Jim. She was widowed by her first husband, Boris Pasichniak and her second husband, Joe Marin.

She is lovingly remembered by all of us.
