Obituary of Michael Andrew STARK

June 7, 1991 - February 1, 2021

It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Andrew Stark of Calgary, AB, at the age of 29 years.

Michael was born in Calgary and graduated from St. Francis High School in 2009. Next he attended the University of Calgary where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering in 2013. Michael then completed a Water Technology Diploma at NAIT in 2018. At the time of his passing he was working for Kuehne + Nagel Logistics.

Michael enjoyed video gaming, golf, and watching movies. He loved a good pasta meal, and a good steak.  Michael loved animals and one of his favorite companions was Patches, his cat for twenty years. At age fourteen he earned his black stripe in Tae Kwon Do. He played high school football and rugby with the St. Francis Browns. He also enjoyed camping, nature walks, and cycling.

Michael will be most remembered for his kind and gentle nature. He loved to gather with family for celebrations like Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas or for a family barbeque or dinner. Michael flourished during his childhood in Nova Scotia. He loved the ocean, exploring in the forest, riding his bike, and playing with his school friends and the “court boys”.

He is survived by his loving parents, Lowell and Christine Stark; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jennifer and Rhett Fountain, Ashley and Andrew McLean; niece and nephew, Aurelia and Brock Fountain; and Grandmother Frances Houle, all of Calgary, and his extended family and friends.
