Obituary of Rosslyn Hing CHUNG

December 18, 1953 – Vancouver, British Columbia

January 31, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

 

Rosslyn Chung (nee Lee), beloved wife of Samuel “Sam” Chung, of Calgary, Alberta, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at the age of 67 years.

Rosslyn was born in Vancouver, British Columbia on December 18, 1953. Happy childhood years were spent at the family homes in Burnaby, and later in the Shaughnessy area of Vancouver. Rosslyn attended the nearby  Emily Carr and Eric Hamber schools.

Rosslyn graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Music degree.

Rosslyn met Sam at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario, and soon after married Sam in 1981.

She was a member of Music Teacher Associations in British Columbia, and in Alberta, and volunteered with both associations and other charity organizations. Rosslyn accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of her family’s achievements.

Rosslyn enjoyed and had a passion for music education. She was a dedicated piano teacher to her students, enhancing their love of  music with supportive kindness and encouragement.

Rosslyn’s many memorable vacations was with family back in Vancouver during many summers, or on big trips overseas with family in Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia and Brunei.

She will be most remembered for her self-less kindness and dedication to her family and to her students.

Besides her loving husband Sam, Rosslyn is survived by her two sons, Christopher Chung of Edmonton, Alberta, and Stephen Chung of Calgary, Alberta.

Rosslyn is also survived by her sister Donna Lee (John Leung) of Richmond, B.C., her brother Ross Lee of Vancouver, sister in-law Caroline Lian (Derek Lian) of Calgary, brother in-law Thomas Chung and Paul Chung (Sau Peng Chung) of Malaysia, parents in-law Susie and Joseph Chung of Calgary, and numerous cousins, and friends.

Rosslyn was predeceased by her parents, Patricia and Watts Lee.
