I knew Murray from high school football. We had some good times together. We recently reconnected after 50 years, and had agreed to get together as soon as Covid allowe.
My condolences to the family. Keep Well.
I was so sorry to learn of Murray's passing and my heart goes out to Bev and family. I first met Murray at Calgary Co-op in the mid-seventies and was struck immediately with his attitude, hustle and work ethic - he was an inspiration. I had the privilege to work for Murray in several locations over the years and he really was the best of bosses. Again, so sorry for your loss.

Bev and family,
My sincere condolences to you and your families. I had the honour of working with Murray at Oakridge Co-op. He was a great boss - one who demanded your best because he always gave his! He always had time to listen, encourage and support. He was definitely a mentor and became a friend. Hope you find comfort in knowing Murray made a difference in so many lives...and he will be fondly remembered and sadly missed.
Arlene (McFadyen) King
Murray and I got to know each other playing Mohawk football in the late 60s. At 21, he was older and more experienced than I was at 17. Four years was a huge gap at that age. We were at a party one night during the season and started to talk. Well, we talked for a couple of hours about everything under the sun. From that point forward we became friends as well as teammates. We drifted apart over the years as most do while living our adult lives. Whenever I saw Murray at the Coop, I would stop and catch up. Didn't matter whether 1 day or 1 year had passed since our last meeting, it was like no time at all had passed. Several years ago, Murray organized a coffee group of old teammates. We would meet weekly until COVID curtailed those sessions. I regret that the virus took away so many of our coffee dates and the related fun we would have shared. I know that I will miss Murray and his personal stories of old, his updates on the status of his family and friends, the status of his DIY projects and, of course, our discussions of current affairs. I enjoyed all of it. Farewell my friend.
Bev and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Murray’s passing. I worked with Murray at Richmond Co-op. He was always so pleasant, friendly and fun to work with. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Our condolences to Bev and family. I remember many years ago when I used to work for Calgary Co-op, Murray and I decided we needed to take a skiing holiday to Panorama. We loaded up that huge car (1977? Thunderbird) that Murray loving restored and off we went. After a few days we thought we were pros and tried the black runs at Panorama. We were quickly put back into our place. After a full day of skiing, barbecued sausage and beer for appetizers and then a huge steak for supper back at the cabin. We also had our fun when a few people at some Co-op functions got us mixed up because of the red hair. We did not think we looked alike but we made a point of reinforcing their mistake. We started calling each other by the others name and then having a private laugh over the whole thing.
Ours thoughts and prayers are with you.

Our condolences to Bev, Margaret, Jerry, Stewart and their families. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
Bev and family,
Roxie and I have shared some fond memories and laughs thinking of Murray today. We both enjoyed working with him at Oakridge. As lead hand on night crew, Murray demanded you match his expectations to work hard and do your job in a timely matter. He always managed to get his crew out on time or even early. How? Last man finished had to buy the beer for the crew that night!
Your loss has left all of us deeply saddened.
Farqy and Roxie
I am very sorry to hear of Murray's passing. He was a wonderful neighbor and I enjoyed our sidewalk chats when we would be out doing yard work at the same time.
Sending my most heartfelt condolences to all of the McAndrews family.
Know my thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
Our family would like to send our deepest condolences to you and your family .
You are in our prayers .
Please accept our condolences. It was clearly obvious Murray was so very proud of his family.
We first met 55 years ago playing football and also shared accomodation for a period of time. Although meeting only occasionally in recent years, it always felt as if it was just yesterday. A straight forward country boy with great character, high expectations and a wonderful sence of humor. Will miss our friend.
So sorry to hear of Murray's passing. Our prayers are with you all especially at this time when you are restricted to the number of congregation you can have. May the Lord bless you in this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Dolores and Doug Wolosuk

I worked for Murray at Oakridge CO-OP and am sadden by news of his passing. He demanded hard work at the same time was totally approachable and fair. He is one only a few bosses who I ever had a drink socially with at the same time he commanded respect as a Centre Manager that felt earned rather than forced by tittle. To his family I send my most sincere condolences. When I remember him it will always be good thoughts.
Our deepest sympathy Bev to you and your family. So sad for your loss. Murray was my first boss as a Coop Deli Manger and he was one of the best! Such wonderful memories of a great man! Sending hugs
We are saddened to hear of our classmate's passing. Murray was always in the center of the fun and you could hear his wonderful laugh above it all. We cherish our memories of the 12 years at school that we shared. Rest in Peace our dear friend, our thoughts and prayers are with you Bev and all the family.

Murray was one of a kind; the closest person to a "John Wayne" that we knew. He was an exceptional leader and a joy to work with. His enthusiasm for challenges could not be matched. We enjoyed many heated discussions and cold beers. He made a big impact on Calgary Co-op. He will be dearly missed.
May peace be with you.
John & Doreen Taylor

I am so very sorry for your loss. I know all of you, and many others will miss him dearly.
I remember back in the day, when we had our Family Reunions that our parents organized, every 3 years. There were a lot of McAndrews and extended families there. Such good memories, and the only way we got to know some of our cousins, since we had such a big family. Murray was such a nice person, and lots of fun!
Take Care

It is with great sadness to hear about Murray's passing. Unfortunately, with this COVID, Jim and I only had the pleasure of meeting him the one time which we will both treasure forever. He was obviously someone we would have enjoyed hanging out with because he was so down to earth as a person. Bev and family, our prayers will be for you to all have the strength that is so needed at this tiring times. You may have lost Murray today but the one thing no one can take from you are all the lovely and wonderful memories of the years past.

My dearest Bev, my heart aches to hug you, Sean & the girls . I have many, many Murray memories, among my favourites was seeing Murray at one of the famous Co-op parties "quad beers" He danced his heart out with a beer in each hand, and also one in each back pocket. The Coop memories were outstanding but the personal memories were pretty awesome too! I was lucky enough to be welcomed into your home and your family. My heart breaks for you all. Rest easy Murray, the doggies have been waiting for you to bring them cookies ❤

I am very saddened to hear this news. I will always remember Uncle Murray's lighthearted nature and zest for life. He was always up for a good adventure at the lake. He will be so very missed, but never forgotten. My deepest condolences to his family and friends, especially to Bev, Sean, Jamie, and Jesse.
Sending love and hugs.
Murray (Mac or Mur to me) will always be remembered with love and fondness by me. I was in shock and overwhelmed with sadness when I learned of his passing. He was my best friend, brother in law, and brother. We would always introduce each other to others as brothers even though we had different parents. Mac would say we were brothers from another mother. Mac had the biggest heart and people, whether they were family, friends or strangers were so important to him. He was the kind of person you could have a heated and emotional debate with and within seconds he would be buying you a refreshment and giving you a hug. Mac was almost always the life of the party and people naturally gravitated to him. A gentle Irish giant for sure. He was one of the best, kindest, funniest men ever and will always have a huge place in my heart and memory. All my condolences to Bev and Murray's family.
