Obituary of Allen Lance WILSON

Al Wilson, beloved husband of Beverly Ann Wilson (nee Areshenko) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021, at the age of 73 years.

Allen was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 29, 1947. He graduated from New Rochelle High School in 1965 then went on to Westchester Community College in Valhalla, NY. He joined the US armed forces and was stationed in Fort Hood, TX. Allen married Beverly in Calgary, AB in June of 1984. They had two children, daughter Alana and son Loren.

Allen spent most of his life employed as an automotive salesperson for over twenty years. He volunteered at a non-profit agency called Inn From the Cold, an organization dedicated exclusively to families that are or may become homeless. He also taught self-defence courses to children in Federal Way, WA.

Allen was an avid NFL football fan and his team was the NY Giants, but he also had a love for the Seattle Seahawks when he and his family lived in the Seattle area for ten years.

Besides his loving wife, Allen is survived by his daughter Alana Wilson-Lowe, son-in-law Kyle Lowe and grandson Carter Lowe of Calgary, AB; and son Loren Wilson of Calgary, AB. He is also survived by his sister Sharon Gethers, of Hempstead, NY, brother Ronald Wilson of Rochester, NY and brother Ernest Harris and sister-in-law Maxine Harris of Mount Vernon, NY. Allen is also survived by nephews, Sean Henry, Alex Harris, Julian Harris, Justin Harris, and Eugene Cummings; and nieces, Tabitha Harris, Tamara Hudson and Marguerite Wilson. Allen was predeceased by birth mother Lillian Wilson of Brooklyn, NY and mother Ella Mae Harris and father Elder Leroy Harris of Mount Vernon, NY, his sisters, Helen Wilson of Brooklyn, NY, Carole Wilson of Poughkeepsie, NY, and Sheila Wilson of Brooklyn, NY; brother Howard Wilson of Poughkeepsie, NY, and nephew Marcus Henry of Hempstead, NY.
