Condolences
We have know Pat for many years while working in the oil patch. He was a gentle giant of a man, with a rough exterior, at times, but had an extremely kind heart. He made a point of keeping in touch with his friends and co-workers. We will miss his calls. He was a true and honest friend.

I worked with Dowell, same as Pat. Pat was a big imposing man with kind heart who loved his work and his cows. On the occasions I was in the Calgary office, it was always a treat to talk, but mostly listen.I would never have guessed him originating in England until he told me his story. Struck me more as Texas in the way he talked! I am a farm boy and I think that is where we hit it off. Ag and all!
When he found out I was to visit Australia in 1980, he gave me the contact of his nephew Mike Hartog in Brisbane. Good visit.
Sorry to see another of the old boys gone. Should be some great yarns going on now.
This is Tim Nakamura, Chuck and Betty’s son and your old neighbor. I remember going over to the Hodgson house across the alley when I was a little boy in Acadia. Pat was such a big man when you are a child. I remember asking him if I could be as tall as him when I grow up. He laughed at that and of course that never happened because I peaked at 5’6”. I will miss Mr. Hodgson and his sense of humour. Frances, Susan and Steven, please accept our heartfelt condolences on the passing of your husband and father. May he rest in peace.
I am very sorry to hear of Mr. Hodgson's passing. We often think about him and the huge help he was in fostering young people. I can remember he and Steve being active with the 4H club and encouraging the younger generation. We would like to extend our condolences to Frances and his family.
Pat and I worked together for many years, and stayed in contact after his retirement, he was one of my mentors.
He taught me how the oil patch operated, and the importance of personal contacts and honesty with are clients.
He also taught me how to drink Scotch, which was not a good thing.
For his size and demeanor, Pat was a big teddy bear, a very kind, gentle, and caring person. He always had time
to inquire about our family and friends.
I will miss our occasional phone calls to update us about our friends and family.
Pat you were a good and fateful friend, and may you have Eternal Peace.

I Sandy Milne have known Pat for about 62 years , we were both working for Dowell and had occasion for our paths to cross , Pat was BIG and I was not so I sure didn’t initiate any problems . At that time Pat was working out of Calgary and I was in Brooks .For several years we were in different areas only meeting at technical seminars etc. Then I was moved to Calgary on sales were Pat was also on sales . We both worked out of the downtown office for several, years .Pat retired and went to consult for Baker - I retired a few years later and also went to consult for Baker Oil Tools . We golfed at Darcy Ranch together - Pat was far better a golfer than I and he used to try to give me pointers (. He would tell me that I was standing too close to the ball but I knew I was too close to the damn thing after I hit it ) . We enjoyed our weekly golfing very much I think possibly more for the fellowship than the golf .In the last few years we usually have talked on the phone 3. Or 4. Times a week . Iamsure going to miss those phone calls .Pat was a good friend , he would have given you the shirt off his back and under his tough exterior he was really a gentle giant with a huge heart .I am really going to miss my friend . R I P Pat.

I have known Pat for 62 years . We both were working for Dowell and our paths would cross quite often . Pat was BIG and I was not so I never instigated any controversy if I could help it . After I was moved to Calgary we became quite close , we golfed together at Darcy Ranch - Pat was a much better golfer than I and he used to try to give me pointers which seldom worked - he used to tell me that I was standing too close to the ball ( which I knew was true after I had hit the darned thing ) . We enjoyed our time golfing possibly more for the fellowship than the golf .we both worked on sales for Dowell. And when we retired from there we both worked for Baker, so our work time was quite intertwined . Latterly we would talk, on the phone 3 or 4. Times a week . I am sure going to miss those calls . Pat was a good friend and I will miss him a LOT REST IN PEACE Pat .
Your friend Sandy Milne
