Dear Shirley and Family,
I was so sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. As an old Esso compatriot it was always enjoyable to relive “old times” with Dave at Esso functions and particularly at our annual “beer fest” during the Christmas Season. Our sincere sympathies to all the family from Bryan, Verna and Trish Pryce
I am so sorry to hear of Dave's passing. He was an amazing friend to my father, Bob Finch and a great support to our family in dad's later years. I know how much they enjoyed golfing, hiking and just walking together and Dave made sure dad was able to get out. My deepest condolences.
Dave was a wonderful friend and he and I over the years would reminisce about our days together. The Elks PeeWee hockey team. Army Cadets and members of the Militia 431 Technical Squadron in Blairmore. Our professional lives took us down different paths but never broke our bond. I learned from our conversations over some sixty plus years that he was a man's man. He had a big, warm heart and a wonderful lust for living that abided by the golden rule. David "Easy" John walked among us with the gait and assuring presence of a "John Wayne".
My condolences to you, Shirley, and your family on the passing of Dave. I first got to know Dave in Tripoli Libya where we both worked for different oil companies. Many years later, once back in Calgary, our families would get together for social visits; most memorable were the Christmas Eve dinners. I will remember Dave as a gentle, kind person and very engaging in conversations. My thoughts are with you and family at this difficult time.
Shirley and family, We were saddened to hear of Dave's passing. A humble, kind man, we will always remember our chats at the spring and fall picnics at Sheep River Falls and Forget Me Not pond. Condolences to the family
Dear Shirley, Manda, and Darren- I am so very sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. I have such fond memories of my visits with him in Missoula and Calgary and of course, enjoying a great pasta dinner all together. Thinking of you.

Dear Shirley and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Dave’s passing.
My association with Dave at D’Arcy Ranch and in the craft show circuit bring back many fond memories. Always a welcoming smile.
My thoughts are with you all.
Barb Davenport.
I worked with Dave at Imperial Oil for quite a few years. He was always smiling, very helpful and engaging, a very gentle person. We crossed paths at D’Arcy Ranch at the first tee several years ago and it was a very pleasant surprise as we managed to briefly catch up. My sincerest condolences to his friends and family.
Dear Shirley, Darren, and Amanda:
I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your husband/father. Our families followed each around the world and spent many happy times together in Dawson Creek, Sydney, Calgary, and Tripoli. I always remember “Mr. Gentile” with great fondness - he was such a soft-spoken and kind man.
My heart goes out to all of you as you grieve this sudden loss. Just know he’s with Mal and Gail Parsons and a host of other friends and family enjoying a drink of something and laughing about the old times.
My sincere condolences,
Allison

I am am sorry that you lost Dave. He was, I thought, a very unique man. Smart and kind of quiet. I thought he was a really likeable person.
