Condolences
Alexandre Reis.
Michele, meus pêsames pela perda de seu amado pai. Espero que supere este difícil momento (mais um, com a perda prematura de sua mãe), em sua vida, e seja muito feliz. É o desejo do fundo de meu coração. Você merece ser muito feliz.
Dean and Michelle,
On a cold spring morning in 1985 I woke your Dad (and probably your Mom) up at 3:00 am. We had built a new type of pottery kiln and we trying to get a to fire properly. I had met Tom and Nancy through my wife Susan who had worked with your folks. I knew Tom had the answer to our problem and he graciously stood by on the phone while we got the torch out and cut the flare pipes to the right length. The kiln fired perfectly after that and Tom with his calm professional demeanor told us it was fun for him to be of assistance. I've had the pleasure of telling that story many times so your father's memory will always be with us. I remember Dean and Michelle as youngsters and I know their father was very proud of them. Susan and I are proud to have known both Tom and Nancy. Many people have learned and benefited from Mr. Nawata and we both wish his family peace and pride in memories of his lifetime of grace and spirit.

Tom and I were colleagues in the Electronics Department at SAIT, although I was quite a bit younger than he. He was a kind and gentle person. Rest in peace Tom - your well deserved reward for a rich life well-lived.
Dean and Michele, not sure you remember us but we lived next door to your folks in Wildwood between 1985 and 2005.
Your parents were kind, gracious and great neighbors.
We remember Tom helping set up our kid's basketball net in the front yard and surprising all of us as he deftly sunk the honorary first throw!
He was also generous to our offspring - two of them stayed in the Nawata apartment in Hawaii!
What a great man; a life well lived.

Michele, Dean, and Albert - we will always have wonderful memories of Tom. He was a kind and gentle person, who was so important to our mom and was so good to her. Our deepest sympathy. Tom and Laura Sugimoto
To The Niwata Family
I have very fond memories of Tom. We first met when I started studying Japanese at the Japanese school at Queen Elizabeth High School on Fridays nights in 1982. At that time Mr. Suzuki was our teacher. Really at that time it was just Tome and his nesei friends and me - they were so welcoming. Tom was a great guy and a real gentleman. My sincere condolences on you loss.

SAIT's ALIVE (The Association of Retired and Former employees of SAIT and their spouses) extend their deepest sympathy. After retiring, Tom enjoyed many social events (BBQ's etc) with his SAIT friends. He will be truly missed.
