Obituary of Donna Lynn NORBY

February 1, 1960 – Calgary, Alberta December 4, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta Donna passed away peacefully on Monday, December 4, 2017 at the age of 57. Donna grew up in Acadia, and, at an early age showed her social, travelling side. Her first trips were neighbourhood escapes and she extended those later in life to many destinations, with frequent trips to Disneyland and Vegas. After attending Lord Beaverbrook, Donna worked at the Royal Bank. She married Dale Norby in 1990 and lost him a very short time later in 1991. Donna never remarried and remained close with Dale’s family. After a re-structure at the Royal Bank, Donna joined TELUS and remained there until she went on long-term disability subsequent to her cancer diagnosis. With many life-long friendships, most notably her best buddies Barb Robinson, Linda Davies and Kathy Marrinan. Donna always made and cherished time spent with family and friends. She will be remembered as the social, fun loving and caring lady with the witty sense of humour and someone who jumped at any opportunity for a great shopping trip. She wanted all of us to know she really did not enjoy playing hockey, even on her championship team. We will miss her. Donna is survived by her sister Kerri (Gord Butler), brothers Darrel Robinson (Denise), Gordon Robinson (Shawnee), and their families Carolynn, Curtis, Taylor, Shawn and Ty, whom Donna spoiled at every opportunity. In addition, Donna will be missed by a large extended family and many close friends. Donna was predeceased by her husband, Dale in 1991, her Mother Jean Robinson (nee Holmes) in 2007 and her Father Ben Robinson in 2010. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary, AB) on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home. The family would like to offer grateful praise to Dr. Bahlis and the wonderful caregivers at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre who fought for and alongside Donna during this journey.
