Obituary of Benigno (Ben) VILLAROMAN

Benigno Villaroman of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at the age of 93 years.

Ben was born in Laur, Nueva Ecija, Philippines on November 20, 1927. He immigrated to Canada in 1986. Ben joined the Armed forces at a very young age in Philippines during World War II. He married Maxima on March 18, 1948 and they were blessed with seven children. Ben accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of troubleshooting and fixing engine and machine problems. He enjoyed bird hunting and fishing. Ben’s most memorable vacation was when he visited his sister in United States.  Ben’s favourite saying was “save when you’re still young and able to work.” He will be most remembered for his patience and hard-work. In retirement he loved to spend time with his family and doing some fixing/troubleshooting small home appliances.

Besides his loving wife, Ben is survived by his one daughter Lilia and four sons, Orlando(Maura), Orson (Alicia), Orville (Chona) and Omar (Rosita); several grandchildren, Warren, Wilf, Rommel, Jeremy, Tracey, Oswald, Brenda, Roma, Lyonelle, Mervin, and Omar Jr. Ben is also survived by his four sisters. Ben was predeceased by his two children, Oliver and Oswaldo, parents and two brothers and one sister.
