Obituary of Thomas Cruise PASHAK

December 10, 1928 – Calgary, Alberta
February 27, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Thomas Cruise Pashak, beloved husband of Lucy and father of Neil, Graham, and Lynn, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at the age of 92 years.

Tom was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Sadie; his sister Catherine, and brothers, Bill and Terry.

Tom was born in Calgary, AB on December 10, 1928. Growing up in the Beltline district, he attended St. Mary’s High School, where he excelled at football and track & field. He also played hockey with the Calgary Stampeders Minor Hockey Team, Calgary Buffaloes Junior Hockey Team and the Okotoks Oilers Senior Hockey Team.

After working at Cominco for four years, Tom decided to pursue an apprenticeship in Plumbing and Gas Fitting and was granted his license in 1957. He worked on various projects in the city, including Market Mall, Calgary International Airport, Foothills and Rockyview Hospitals, and many buildings in the downtown core such as the Petro Canada Building, TELUS Building, Gulf Canada Square, Esso Plaza Building and Devon (Canterra) Tower. Tom always maintained a professional work ethic on all projects as a foreman or superintendent. He retired in 1989.

In 1958, Tom and Lucy were married, a loving relationship of sixty-three years. Tom worked hard to lovingly support and care for his wife and children. He enjoyed camping with his young family. Especially the annual camping vacations at Mara Lake, BC and the various Alberta mountain park camping trips, all in the old tent trailer. Tom was also an avid fan of both the Stampeders and the Flames. He was a season ticket holder and never missed a televised game. Tom also enjoyed his time working around the house and yard.

Tom was a member of the Corpus Christi Parish since its inception. After his retirement, he volunteered his time serving as both Acolyte and Usher at funeral services, with the Inn From the Cold Program, and by doing plumbing repairs and maintenance at the church. Tom was always eager and pleased to assist anyone who needed help.

Tom most cherished the time spent with his family and friends. He is remembered as being friendly, kind, pleasant, and having a great smile.

A Private Funeral Service will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at 11:00 am. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed on Thomas’ obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com. A special thanks to the staff at the Dulcina Hospice.
