Lynne and Andrew, We were so sorry to read today on the St. Thomas bulletin of the premature passing of Mike. We knew him from the sound booth there, Andrew from Youth group and confirmation, and you, Lynne, from your role as substitute pianist, and tasty Sunday morning snacks!. We were touched by the pictures (Andrew, you were so cute!), Lynne, you are still as beautiful as you were as a young bride! How special to have those picture memories of over 40 years together. Sending our sincere sympathy,
Harold and Loeta Black, St. Thomas United Church
Dear Lynne and Andrew:
I was shocked and saddened to read about this sudden passing of your beloved husband and Dad. Such a legacy of an obviously great man. I remember Mike well, working the sound booth at St. Thomas United Church. It has been a tough year for so many during the pandemic, and even more so for those who lose loved ones no matter the cause.
May Mike's echo and spirit be with you always and may you be comforted by the love and caring of family and friends. Please reach out if you need spiritual or practical care. Our very deep condolences to both of you.
Blessings and light,
Marjorie Aucoin

Sending my sympathy to Mike’s family. I was shocked and saddened to hear of Mike’s sudden passing. I volunteered along side Mike at the Cochrane and Area Humane Society, he was such a dedicated and compassionate person and his smile and enthusiasm is missed. It was a pleasure to have known him.

Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. I met Mike while volunteering in the Cochrane and Area Humane Society Hospital. We started working together before Covid when we could have two volunteers in the hospital on a shift. He was so kind and compassionate with the patients (dogs and cats - and probably a rabbit or two) and would often take home a patient for TLC while they recovered. During Covid we weren’t able to overlap shifts and I realized how much I enjoyed his stories about his other volunteer work, his hobbies and his family. We will all miss him very much.
Lynne and Andrew,
My heartfelt condolences to you and the family members on Mike's passing. I knew him through the Arbour Lake Community Association with the board of directors. He willing gave many hours and ideas to the board and will be missed. Blessings and prayers to you all.

Lynne and Andrew,
We want to express our heartfelt condolences to you both. We were saddened to hear of Mike's sudden passing. James and I enjoyed our time with Mike during our many hours with Free - Mo whether at Wetcreek, Supertrains or our annual pilgrimage to Big Valley. He was a valued member of our group. James in particular benefited from Mike's expertise and passion for model railroading. He will be sorely missed by us all.

Lynne and Andrew,
We were shocked and deeply saddened by the loss of Mike. We felt so welcomed by him when we joined Calgary FreeMo and learned so much from him. Mike always had a smile and a story to tell. He loved sharing his trains with the young enthusiasts attending Supertrains! Our fondest memory is the weekend we spent with you, Mike and Andrew in Banff. Keeping you in our hearts thoughts and prayers. Judy and Mike
We are sending all our love to our beautiful Canadian cousins. I feel so honoured to have met Mike but at the same time deeply saddened that (my) Mike and children won’t get this chance. When we visit you, or you visit us, we will share all these wonderful memories and talk about all the things Mike loved to do. It was lovely reading all about mikes hobbies, interests and volunteer work. Brought back so many memories of your visit here many many years ago. We have donated to our local animal sanctuary in memory of Mike . It is an incredible sanctuary that Mike would have loved. They are in desperate need of funding to help with recent unexpected vet fees so I’m sure they with be extremely grateful.
All our love
Your Welsh cousins
Caroline, Mike, Rose, Nicky, Beth, Ffion and Alfie our dog who Mike would have adored x

Our deepest Condolences on the loss of Mike.
Ryan and myself have many many memories of talking trains, driving trains, modelling trains, loading trains and modules, set-ups and tear downs of train layouts and train shows.
Many wonderful meals.....lots of yummy RUM BALLs shared by all. Mike would hold the plate with Rum balls on it and proudly pass them around to our awaiting greedy hands right into our mouths.
We shared with Mike and Andrew our beloved Toronto Maple Leafs and many many talks of the team players and strategies to win Lord Stanley's Cup. Saturday at trains shows we would all be listening to the TML games to get the score.
Mike did so much for all who were a part of the Train group, even when just starting and knew nothing but a love for Trains.
I remember his birthday party in Banff at the train show there, it was very special and a good time had by all.
Thank you for sharing him with all of us for many many hours away from you both, to share his love and knowledge of trains.
We send our love and prayers. Mike will be very much missed. Our hearts hurt for you at this time.

Mike was an important part of the Calgary Free-mo group, an excellent modeller, and a good friend always ready to help newcomers and long timers alike. We were shocked by his sudden passing. His cheerful presence will be much missed by all. Our sympathies go to Lynne, Andrew, and all his family.
It was unsettling to hear of the sudden and tragic change in Mike's health and subsequent passing. Mike came to know me when he worked with me at SaskTel in Regina. It was 1979 but memories of camping trips, birthday parties and just hanging out as friends seems to have no long ago to it. It was just yesterday. Carmen and I became close friends with Mike and Lynne and stayed that way. Our careers took us down different paths and we lived in different cities but when we got together we just carried on from where we last left off.
I am truly going to miss him. He has been a true friend no matter how stormy the weather might have been. I am drawn to memories of an old Neil Diamond song from Tap Root Manuscript. "Done Too Soon" Gonna miss you Mike.
Lynne & Andrew, Elan and we were very sad to hear about your loss. our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Mike was a very important part of the Airdrie Space Science Club, which he helped found and volunteered at for the past 10 years. His compassion and gentle ways helped many young members. He was a leader on Star Parties as well, bringing his telescope to share the night skies with all who wanted to look. He will be dearly missed.
Ken and I met Mike and Lynne on a camping trip in the mountains in Calgary. Mike shared his love of fly fishing with Ken ...He had Ken so interested in the sport, that when we arrived home, he was out the door to purchase gear and a kit to make his own flies, after Mike had shown him with such pride what to do...
