Condolences
My condolences. John mentored me as a young engineer as well as others at Shell in Calgary back in the 1970s. He was always helpful with an open door. I travelled a few times with John to Shell’s gas plants. He told me to learn as much about the operation of these plants when young. I passed on his good advice to young engineers I mentored later in life. I considered him a great friend....Ron Bachmeier.
Hey John, we're sorry for your loss. Your dad was a good man who always put family first. I still remember driving along Highway 8 with you west of the city back in the 80's (probably returning from golfing?) and passing someone riding their bike on the shoulder of the road. He was all alone headed west, half way to Bragg Creek and you yelled out "Hey, that's my Dad". I can still remember being shocked that someone could even ride a bike that far!
