Obituary of Thomas D. WILSON

Tom Wilson, beloved husband of Sheila Wilson, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at the age of 59 years.

Tom was born in Edmonton, AB. At the age of two his family moved to the farm where his mother was born and raised near Clyde, AB.  He attended the RF Staples High School in Westlock, AB. Tom was a member and volunteer with ALPA . He was a B737 Captain for WestJet Airlines. Tom enjoyed skiing, music, cycling and travelling. He was so proud of his sons for graduating from college, his oldest son from engineering at SAIT and his youngest son from Aviation College, which started his journey to follow in his father’s footsteps. Tom had such a passion for aviation and music. His most memorable vacations were the countless times he went to Maui, Hawaii with his family. Tom will be most remembered for his love and zest for life, his contagious laugh and smile, his ability to connect with friends, his love for flying, music, as well as his love and dedication to his family.

Tom is survived by his loving spouse Sheila, two sons, Bryce and Garrett of Airdrie, AB; his mother Jean Wilson of St. Albert, AB, brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Deborah Wilson of Edmonton, AB; and sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Greg Clements of Shawnigan Lake, Vancouver Island, BC. He was predeceased by his father Maurice Wilson. Tom will be fondly remembered by his nieces, one nephew, sister-in-law, mother-in-law and their families.
