Obituary of Gojko MADUNOVIC

November 4, 1946 – Klobuk, Bosnia and Herzegovina
March 4, 2021– Calgary, Alberta

It is with sorrowful and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gojko Madunovic, beloved husband of Ljubica Madunovic (Tolic) of Calgary, AB, on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at the age of 74 years.

Gojko was born in Klobuk, Bosnia and Herzegovina on November 4, 1946 to Ivan and Manda Madunovic. He was a wonderful husband and a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was our foundation and our compass. Gojko was the glue that kept us all together, the voice of reason and a helping hand. His heart was made of gold and he will continue to inspire us through his memories. He was an inspiration to us all. We will honor his memories and keep them close to our hearts. 

Gojko loved nature and gardening. He spent as much time as possible soaking up the sun. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his loved ones. He enjoyed hosting barbecue family dinners and was an amazing cook. He was a hardworking and honest man and was loyal and generous. He loved his wife, his children, grandchildren and all of his family and friends here, back home and abroad.

Gojko is survived by his loving wife Ljubica, son Miroslav, daughters, Manda, Tina and Anne-Marie; grandsons, Nicholas, Bradley and Tyler; granddaughters, Christina, Megan, Vanessa and Milena; and sons-in-law, Chris Loeppky and Daniel Jones. He is also survived by many family and friends in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and abroad namely, his brothers, Miroslav Madunovic and Milivoj Madunovic; his sisters, Jela Culjak and Mila Samardzija; and their families.

A Private Prayer Service will be held at McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes, Fish Creek Chapel. 

A Private Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Marija Bistrica Croatian Catholic Church. Condolences, memories and photos can be shared and viewed here.
