Obituary of Marcus Ramirez ESPANIOLI

September 14, 1998 - Calgary, Alberta
March 1, 2021 - Cochrane, Alberta

Marcus Espanioli of Cochrane, AB, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021, at the age of 22 years.

Marcus graduated from Cochrane High in 2016 and Makami College in April 2020 with a diploma in Massage Therapy. Marcus was just starting his life and had so much more to do; he was proud of his knowledge of human anatomy and was driven to help others.

Marcus had a passion for outdoor adventures, including hiking, snowboarding, and swimming in the ocean. His therapy was weight lifting, bodybuilding, and “chilling” with his friends. He enjoyed listening to old-time music (Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin), big band music and modern lo-fi beats. He played the violin, harmonica and was learning the guitar. He enjoyed video games, collecting expensive things, and pursued a goal of beating his personal fitness records. Marcus was inventive and could accomplish anything he put his mind to.

Marcus’ favourite destination was climbing the mountain trails near Canmore. He lived for the moment on the edge of life; he craved the thrill and was never afraid to just go for it. He will be most remembered for his straightforward ways, electric energy, warm smile, compassion, and kindness.

Marcus is survived by his parents, Ramzi and Cherie Espanioli; his brothers, Anthony and Brandon; his sister Georgina, his maternal grandparents, Robert and Maureen Allen; and paternal grandfather Victor Espanioli as well as numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Marcus was predeceased by his paternal grandmother Georgette Espanioli.

A Private Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at 10:00 a.m.  Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.

In living memory of Marcus Espanioli, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Chapel of the Bells, 2720 CENTRE STREET NORTH, CALGARY, AB T2E 2V6, Telephone: 403-243-8200.

Afterglow

I’d like the memory of me
To be a happy one
I’d like to leave an afterglow
Of smiles when life is done
I’d like to leave an echo
Whispering softly down the ways
Of happy times and laughing times
And bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve,
To dry before the sun
Of happy memories that I leave
When life is done.
