After a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, Jack McLaughlin passed away in Calgary, AB, on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at the age of 83 years.

Cpl J.G McLaughlin proudly served his country as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces for twenty plus years, serving in both Europe and Canada, receiving the Canadian Decoration (CD). His support of the Canadian Armed Forces was unwavering. He developed enduring friendships with fellow members that have lasted throughout his life-time. Jack later worked for AGT (Telus) until his retirement. Throughout his life, Jack loved physical training and spent many hours lapping school yards and parks, and spending time at the gym. During retirement he enjoyed biking along the pathways of Calgary, and working out at Renfrew City Pool. Holly and Jack went on many adventures, and had plans for many more. Jack was an avid fan of his grandchildren and their pursuits in soccer and downhill skiing. He enjoyed keeping in contact with old friends by phone or emails, and wrote amazing letters. A proud and thoughtful supporter of his family and friends Jack will dearly be missed.

Jack is survived by his life partner Holly Graham, his sons, Richard of Ottawa, and Michael (Theresa) in Calgary; his grandchildren, Liam (Katy), Aidan, and Keira; and his former wife Barbara. Jack is also survived by his nieces and nephews, his many friends around the world, and his beloved puppy Baillie. Jack was predeceased by his parents, his sister Rita, and brothers, Douglas and Bill.
