Obituary of Dennis Ivor STEPHENS

Dennis Ivor Stephens, beloved husband of Patricia Leone Stephens (nee  Moses), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at the age of 79 years.

Dennis was born in Georgetown, Guyana on May 2, 1941. He moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1969. Dennis graduated from the Red River Community College with a degree in engineering, he then wrote his Interprovincial for Heavy Duty Mechanic in 1974. Dennis married Patricia in 1973. He was a member and volunteer of the Guyanese Canada Cultural Association. Dennis accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of starting and running Central Diesel and Transmission Ltd., learning to skate and playing hockey. Dennis loved and had a passion hockey, golf, and being an entrepreneur. Dennis’ favourite saying was, “You never fail until you stop trying.”

Besides his loving wife Patricia, Dennis is survived by his daughter Andria, and three sons, Allwyn, Desmond and Richard. Dennis is also survived by his siblings, Ulric, Buyon and June; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Dennis was predeceased by his mom Ruth Stephens.
