Condolences
Hap was larger than life and will be deeply missed. I am so grateful I knew him and have so many fun memories to cherish. I've never met anyone with such a passion for life and unlikely will again. My sincere condolences to his family.
Our thoughts are with you. Yet may your memories of Hap remain for always. Gone in body but not in spirit. Knowing Hap made our lives a little brighter. He was kind. He was funny. He was a good friend. Thank you Hap.
Saddened to hear of Hap's passing. We enjoyed many laughs at so many media, sports and Stampede events during the 70's and 80's. He was truly unique and talented. Best wishes to the family.
Someone as special as Hap will never be forgotten....the Coffee Parties, Snow Snake Hunts, and all night with
Dolly Holiday at CFCN Radio, and the good times with the Old Farts over lunch. What a great guy with a million
stories and a terrific musical talent to boot.

Condolences to the Freeman family! .T
This past Monday, Ron and I learned of the passing of one of our oldest and dearest friends from Calgary, Hap Freeman. We first met Hap in Calgary when we first moved there in 1976. As Calgary's first Traffic Reporters (Chopper), he was renowned for his fearless approach to taking to the skies to report traffic for CFCN (and survived two serious chopper crashes). Hap was a multi talented man, a musician, craftsman, mentor and a wonderful ly devoted family man to his sons and daughter and grandchildren.
When we first met Hap, he (and Fraser Martin) took Ron and I under their wings and taught us how to ski (at Fortress Mountain); a tradition we kept up for the next thirty two years (thanks Hap!). We spent many good years skiing with Hap, Lord those were good years, not to speak of the years you would drop by our house to play guitar with Ron and sing and play for hours! A good, good friend. We will miss him. Rest in Peace, Hap.. Ronald T. & Jan Robinson
I met Hap originally through the Calgary Police, but got to know him and enjoy his company after working with him at the Calgary Stampede, Caravan Committee and Rodeo Committee. He was a great gentleman and always had plenty of laughs with him. He will be missed by many. RIP Hap
We are so sorry to hear of Hap's passing. He was such a Good friend to Richard and I. We are forever grateful to have known him and to have been his friends. He was a very talented individual, who helped us in many ways. Hap was a great musician and singer a wonderful announcer and MC, a very gifted artist etc. plus the list goes on and on. One thing I remember fondly is how wonderful he was as our MC, and sound man etc. for the shows we did , when I was a member of Holly Wood and Vine . And he helped Toshi Jackson and the rest of us immensely with his show biz and life knowledge. He was also a mentor to Richard , who benefitted from his sage business advice.
He will always have a place in our hearts and he will be greatly missed by many. Our hearts go out to his family. May it give you some peace to know he is smiling down on all of you from Heaven . Rest in peace Hap and thankyou for everything !!! Much love always !
With Love and Sincere condolences from, Yvonne Penney and Richard Patterson
Had the pleasure of mentoring Hap as CFCN Radio prepared to start a helicopter traffic watch. Also had the fun of having on the CFCN/CTV news as the backup weather guy. Loved his stories about his stunt work and admired his passion for the wilderness and the environment. RIP Hap.
Enjoyed the many years of working with Hap at CFCN Radio. Talk of the Town, Helicopter traffic watch and many other events plus his camaraderie. Many laughs and fond memories. Enjoy the afterlife Hap - I know you will Charlie T
To Hap's Family and many friends...
May the healing gifts of time and the timeless love of God carry you gently through the loss you're feeling now.
Christopher (Hap) was my dear friend and I will miss him.

I never knew he was ‘Chris’ - it was always ‘Hap’. He taught me how to do TrafficWatch in that antique chopper, and how to operate a talk show and host a coffee party - truly a man of many talents! Rest easy.
Heaven just got the luck of the draw... entertainment coming through!!! . Hap was a great friend, a compassionate caring man, who loved his family dearly. He was always ready to help in any way, his sage advice always on the menu... he fought a brave and very long battle to stay here, defied the odds over and over, I lost count how many times he almost made it to the other side. But he always had one more batch of cookies to make and share. Stubborn ran deep..lol.
My sincerest sympathy to the whole family. Thank you for helping him stay here all these extra years. He truly appreciated all your help, he was not a man to be happy about relying on assistance.
Know he will be missed by many for many reasons. He was a good good man.
Fly high Hap... free at last,
Our heartfelt sympathy to the Freeman family. May you find comfort at this time and know you are in our thoughts.
