Condolences
It was a privilege, and a delight, to work with Sophie in the mid 80s. Her dedication to our customers was an example for us all and I became a better Manager for having known her. Many of our local business owners would stand patiently in line, allowing others to go ahead as they waited for their turn to be served by Sophie.
My condolences to Doug (whom I only knew from Sophie as “Wilson”) and the family. Sophie was unique in every way and will be missed.
Even though it has been many years since I last saw Sophie as a kid growing up in Bellevue, in the Crowsnest Pass, I still have many fond memories of her. Sophie was a strong and caring person, a vivacious woman who always had a smile on her face. She made a positive impression on people with her outgoing personality and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. My wife, Adrienne, and I would like to express our sincere condolences to her family at this time of sorrow.
I am so saddened to hear of Sophie’s passing. I remember Sophie and her family from my early, teenage years in Bellevue and attending the same JR/SR High School in Blairmore. She was part of a group of ‘older girls’ yet I so remember being struck by her presence on the school bus each day. She entered the bus with her bold sense of fashion and accoutrements along with her perfectly coiffed, black hair and lacquered red nails. Even then, she was a beautiful young fashionista!
Today, I am thinking of her friends and family and all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed.
May your many fond memories bring you peace and comfort in the coming days.
I’m extending much love and sincere condolences to all of you.

I worked with Sophie many years ago ...early 70s at RBC. Sophie had a wonderful sense of humor, always ready to help, great with our customers. Everyone loved her. We shared many fun times at the bank. I ran into her....maybe 10-15 years ago at a Coop, recognized her immediately....was so happy to see her again!
Hugs to you Doug.....

I worked with Sophie at The Royal Bank after I graduated from high school in the earlier 80’s. She was the bench mark for Customer Service. She knew all her customers names and if she was’t sure she would call them “flash”. She was funny, spunky and always looked incredible with her black hair and perfect manicure. Her light always shines so bright that even 40 years later I still remember her sweet soul!
