Obituary of Carol Anne GEREMIA (nee Ashmore)

March 16, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Carol Anne Geremia, beloved wife of Joseph (Joe) Geremia, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at the age of 73 years surrounded by her family.

Carol was born in Nordegg, Alberta, Canada on February 22, 1948 to Anna and Melvin Ashmore and moved to Calgary in 1955. Carol was part of the first grade 10 class to attend St. Francis High School when it opened and went on to graduate from the school in 1966, the same school her children and grandchildren would later all graduate from as well.

Carol met Joe Geremia in Calgary in 1964 and they were married in 1966. Carol was very proud of her children and all her grandchildren and could not wait to have them come to their acreage near Sundre every summer to spend time with them.

Carol loved to laugh and be around friends and family and her favorite pastimes were reading, visiting with friends, and knitting.  Her latest knitting project was to knit toques for local charities.

Carol is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, Joseph, son Roberto (Kim), and daughter Lori (Mark).  She will be lovingly remembered by her four grandchildren Anthony, Sierra, Adriana, and Mckenna.  Carol is also survived by her sister Linda Perizzolo, many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends in Canada, and is predeceased by her parents, Anna and Melvin Ashmore.

Private Prayers and Tributes will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church (541 Silvergrove Drive N.W., Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. Due to COVID restrictions, only immediate family will be able to attend the prayers service.

A Private Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church (541 Silvergrove Drive N.W., Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Due to COVID restrictions, family and friends are invited to join Mrs. Geremia’s service streamed live by clicking the following link: St. Peters Live Stream on the day of the service.
