Obituary of Lisa Angela ROCHE

February 4, 1964 – Edmonton, Alberta
March 13, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with incredible sadness that the family of Lisa Angela Roche announces her sudden but peaceful passing from cancer on Saturday, March 13, 2021 with her daughter by her side.

Lisa was born on February 4, 1964 in Edmonton, AB. She was the third of Jo’s three girls and without a doubt the cutest with her curly blond locks and sweet smile. In her younger years she lived in Edmonton then the family moved to the Crowsnest Pass where she fell in love with Southern Alberta, country life, the mountains, and developed many lifelong friends. She later moved to Calgary, and loved being a Calgarian. She always looked forward to the Calgary Stampede. She was there for it all, from the parade, corporate events, which she often arranged, and to the rodeo and concerts, a true fan.

Lisa was an accomplished payroll specialist for the past twenty-five years and loved her work and career life. She was known in business sectors in Houston, Salmon Arm and Calgary. She took great pride in ensuring that her work was exemplary, people were treated fairly and well and that deadlines were met. In her role she had the opportunity to travel and meet a variety of people which was always of great enjoyment to her.

She had a bright fun-loving spirit with a great sense of humor, bringing joy where she went and her easy, great laugh. She loved any celebration and occasion and always made sure it was done up well, as her neighbors will attest! Her decorations for Halloween and Christmas were legendary and brought enjoyment to all who saw them. Lisa was the dollar store queen, and was always open to a trip to the store, bringing all those along, and winning them over to this treasure trove. Great fun was had by all with her recent purchase of knick-knacks, wacky gadgets, and party items from her shopping adventures.

Lisa was kind and generous and made sure that all were cared for especially her grandsons and daughter, family and friends, and strangers, or as she would call them, “new friends”. Her greatest passion was her family and spending time with her daughter and grandsons, always welcoming them with open arms, great snack and a game or two. The neighborhood birds and squirrels are going to miss her as she was very fond of making sure they were well fed.

On of her favorite places was “the cozy cabin” at Gull Lake which she and her sister Michele found and worked hard at making a wonderful space for the family. She was a real DIYer and took on and tackled many projects with beautiful results. We were all so hoping that she would have more time to spend at the lake with her boys.

All to soon she leaves to mourn are her beloved daughter, Kailee Rae, adored grandsons, Willis and Zach; mom and dad, Josephine and Dale Cook; sisters, Moira (Allan) Bazin, Michele (Greg) Telford and Dana (Terry) Wong; brothers, Chris (Shauna) Erickson and Ed Cook. She also leaves her nieces and nephews, Janay (Erik), Jess (Francis), Joel, Ben, Anika, Peyton, Ethan, and Emmett; and great-nephews, Hudson and Beau, and great-niece, Orla. She also leaves to mourn her dear friend and travel buddy Donna Eby, as well as many friends and family from across Canada, the US, and Ireland. We would like to especially mention how much her Boisvert cousins and friends in Lesser Slave Lake and Kinuso meant to her, another favorite place where she made her yearly trek, and was always welcome with open arms.

The family extends their thanks to the Palliative Home Care Team, the Complex Care Team at the Rockyview Hospital, Dr. Gwynn Bebb and the team at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre.

A Celebration of Lisa’s Life will be held at a later date at the cabin at Gull Lake. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Lisa’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com. If you would like to make a donation in Lisa’s name, she would be happy if you chose a charity of your choice.

Be at peace sweet girl.
