Obituary of Kathleen LLOYD-JONES

Kathleen Lloyd-Jones of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at the age of 89 years.

For over twenty years, Kathleen was known as the “Cookie Lady” by the many residents and staff at Salvation Army’s Homestead in Vancouver. Among her many hobbies, playing piano and singing in the choir were her two favorites. She also loved to read and keep in touch with family and friends by letter and phone calls. Kathleen had a zest for life that came out in her smile, voice and laughter. Those who knew her best will also remember the many stories of travels that she and Bud experienced around the globe. 

Kathleen will be sadly missed by her daughters, Megan Lloyd-Jones (Wally Dunn) and Brenda Ostlund (Hal) of Calgary, AB; grandsons, Gavin (Mauri Pretzlaw) of Calgary, AB, and Brandon (Danielle) of Kelowna, BC; and great-grandchildren, Marina and Ben, of Kelowna, BC. She is also survived by her cousin, Colleen Lust (Jess), who was like a sister to her, best friend Elfrieda Brezina of Cache Creek, BC, and her many curling and golf buddies from North Vancouver, Marion, Gloria, Joy, Connie and Diane. 

Kathleen was predeceased by her husband of forty-seven years, Richard (Bud) Thomas Lloyd-Jones. 

A Private Family Service will be held at Harrison Hot Springs Resort when it is safe to do so.
