Obituary of Robert Alan MCKENDRY

July 5, 1954 – Toronto, Ontario November 15, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta Al McKendry of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at the age of 63 years. Al’s greatest passion was his love for hockey. As a child, he spent as much time as possible on the ice. He later helped many youth develop their hockey skills through his coaching. He empowered many to push through hardships, and led by example that difficult times can be opportunities to become a better person. He lived hard and fast, but he wouldn’t have had it any other way. He lived life on his (own) terms. We love you, Al! Al is survived by his mother Dorothy and his two brothers, Thomas and Brian McKendry, as well as many nieces, nephews, and special friends who were family to him. Al was predeceased by his father, Thomas McKendry. The family would like to thank the staff on unit 49 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital for everything they did to support Al. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary, AB) on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow.
