Condolences
Sorry to hear that Jim has left us. I remember Jim mostly from his contribution to the St Giles Inn-From-The-Cold program. Jim always had a calming presence with his quiet Intelligence and great sense of humor. Our sympathies go out to Sandra and Stewart for losing Jim way too soon.

Dear Sandra and Stewart,
We were saddened to hear of Jim's passing, and would like to express our deepest condolences to you and your family during this difficult time.
Having both worked with Jim in different contexts some decades ago, we have many, many fond memories of his extraordinary intellect, his delightful dry humour, and his ability to carve out a unique approach to everything he tackled. From discussing the merits of various programming designs to yelling at hockey games, from praising Harry Chapin to pondering what pizza to order - so many big and small moments. We're glad to have shared parts of our life's journeys with Jim.

What a beautiful service for Jim- I hope it gave you comfort. I'm glad you could be in the church sanctuary.
My heart reaches out to you. It seems we were just talking on the phone and mentioning his upcoming doctor's appointment. Jim's passing seems so sudden.
I pray the days ahead will be filled with wonderful memories and an overwhelming sense of God's presence, love and comfort.
Bless you as you grieve such an enormous loss, but know that you are not alone- many, many prayers will lift you up.
Mary
Our deepest sympathy to you and the family. We remember Jim at St Marks Church when his father was minister. They were very good times which we must remember.

We attended the funeral on-line from Toronto, what a lovely service.
We were saddened to hear of a good friend’s passing. Jim and I shared an office when I first arrived in Calgary. We had many great days cycling, golfing and laughing together.
Our deepest sympathies go out to Sandra, Stewart, and families.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Jim's passing. He was one of a kind. My deepest sympathy to Sandra and Stewart on your loss.
Dear Sandra, I'm so saddened by news of Jim's passing. I followed his courageous battle through his buoyant Facebook posts, found him so inspiring! I met Jim through local poetry classes. He provided such a delightful, kindhearted and fun presence. His poetry thought provoking works that I still remember. I hold fond our memories of the dinner a small group of us shared at Ed and Meghans about 4 yrs ago. Please know I'm sending you healing thoughts and prayers as you grieve deep loss of your husband, best friend. Warmth of angel wings to all of Jim's family and your dear Bo. I suspect heaven beyond excited welcoming him, his wonderful humour and hoping he'll join some bands!
Dear Evans Family: My brothers Ian and David and I were so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. We all remember the Evans family at St Mark's Don Mills in the 1960s - 1970s when James Sr was the minister there. Our parents Ron and Cathy Ray were good friends of theirs. I remember Jim Jr as having a great sense of humour. Our sincere condolences at this difficult time. God bless.
To Sandra and Stewart, I wish to extend the deepest sympathies from myself and my wife, Josephine. Jim was an instrumental part of my growth as a programmer and as a human being during our time at Presslogic. He is remembered fondly and I am sure will be missed by those around him.
Very sorry to read Jim’s obituary in today’s Globe. It brought back memories of Regina days and his parents. We extend our condolences to Sandra and family. Tom & Gayle Rodger
