Obituary of Bill Briscoe

October 10, 1933 – Castor, Alberta   

March 19, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

With heavy hearts, the family of Bill Briscoe announce his passing on Friday, March 19, 2021 in his 87th year. 

Bill was born on October 10, 1933 in Castor, AB, returning to England shortly thereafter with his family where he grew up before making his way to back to AB and settling in Calgary. He married May in 1962 and relished fifty-seven years of marriage. Together they raised a loving family with two children and enjoyed four caring grandchildren.

An active member of the Inglewood Golf and Curling Club since the early 1970’s, Bill was an avid golfer and made many, many friends over the decades.  He often reminisced about the time he spent there and with those he got to know with fond memory.  He was proud to introduce both the game he loved and the golf club he enjoyed to his family, and spending time together at Inglewood became the foundation and an integral part of his life.  During the last several years Billy, as he was affectionately called by his closest friends, would often be seen with his daughter Lisa and close friend Robbie Pennock as the “Three Amigos” would be once more attacking the course.  Active to the end, he was delighted to report that he scored his age not once, but twice when he was eighty-six.

Bill will be fondly remembered by his son William and partner Julie, daughters, Lisa and Ann MacKenna; and special family member David Smith. His memory will be cherished by his four grandchildren, Natasha, Sterling, Paris and Trey; and his two furry grandbabies, Charles and Ahbee, who he lovingly cared for whenever called upon. Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife May in 2019.
