Jerry worked at the Calgary Herald Newspaper for thirty-two years, then, enjoyed retirement for the next thirty-two years. He loved to walk each and every day to work and home for his entire career. No wheels for Jerry, his two feet took him everywhere he had to go in life. He made many friends over the years, wore out many pairs of shoes and held his family and extended family very close to his heart.  His laugh, kind personality and humour, will live deep in the hearts of family members he held so dear. Jerry was an avid sportsman and sports fan. His passion was horses and horse racing. He owned several trotters, enjoying many wins with the likes of Senga Spinner, JC Pacesetter, Homer Hal and his favorite Paprika N. For your enjoyment, $2 win-place-show, or $1 triactor wagers can be made at Calgary or Edmonton racetrack in his honour.  Place your bet and say “This winner’s for you Jerry.”
