Obituary of Pauline WONG (nee Yip)

WONG, Pauline (nee Yip)
December 7, 1941 – Lethbridge, Alberta
March 28, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Pauline Wong at the age of 79 after battling cancer for several years. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family.

Pauline worked at CIBC for numerous years and eventually retired in early 2000. Following her time at the bank, she moved on to work at Edward Jones as the branch office administrator until 2017.

She was an avid curler with the Calgary Chinese Curling Club, participating in various local bonspiels and never missed a televised event. As her children grew up, there were family ski trips every weekend. Pauline was known to be a sports fan cheering on the local Calgary Flames hockey & Calgary Stampeders football teams. She was a lover of warm temperatures and enjoyed travelling to tropical destinations.

In her later years, she enjoyed having a weekly popcorn dinner night while watching her favourite TV shows. She indulged in authentic Chinese food at Golden Inn restaurant with her family, where she had been going for over 30 years. Pauline never missed the opportunity for family get-togethers where many laughs were to be had.

She leaves behind her son Damon, daughter Tiffany (Brian), brothers, Reg “Ben”, Dave (Fran), and Don (Helen); sisters, Fayline, Mayline (Scott), and Arlene (Roland); numerous nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law Diane. She was predeceased by her husband Jim, parents, Jim & Bessie; half brother Tom, and brother-in-law Gordon.

We love you and will miss you, Mom.
