 April 3, 2021 – Calgary, AB

Minnie Zuckier of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at the age of 90 years.

Minnie (nee Lyon) was born and raised a stone's throw from St. George's Island and remained in Calgary her entire life. She combined a career with raising her family and volunteerism. Married in 1949, she was devoted to her husband Elliott for over 65 years until his passing in 2014. Minnie was a proud mother to Dr. Gerald Zuckier of Hamden, CT and Dr. Lionel and Lydia (Rand) Zuckier of Teaneck, NJ and a very involved and doting Bubby to her grandchildren, their spouses and eight great-granddaughters, Rabbi Dr. Shlomo (Chana and children), Shira (Rabbi Rafi Aspir and children), Tzvi, Dr. Shifra (Moshe Chait and children) and Ben Tzion. Minnie and Elliott served as surrogate grandparents to several young families whose love was reciprocated in-kind. Minnie was an active member of the Jewish Community, freely donating her time and assistance to House of Jacob Mikveh Israel, Hadassah and other organizations. She enjoyed attending educational classes up to the last year of life, delighted in playing the piano, and was an avid Silver Master duplicate bridge player.

A Graveside Service will be held at the Erlton Jewish Cemetery.
