Obituary of Alida “Ali” OTJES

Alida Otjes passed away peacefully in her sleep, something that she had always hoped for, in Calgary, AB, on Friday, April 2, 2021 at the age of 92 years.
Born in Rochester, New York during her family’s world travels, Ali grew up in Zaandam, Netherlands. Ali immigrated to Calgary from Zaandam in 1948 with her family and soon to be husband. She was Co-Founder of the Calgary Multicultural Choir.
Ali was predeceased by her husband of sixty-five years, Harry in 2013, and is survived by her sons, Robert, Tom (Karen) and Bruce (Kathy); six granddaughters; three great-grandsons; and many nieces and nephews in Canada and Holland. She is also survived by her sister Rie (Dick).
Due to the current COVID situation there will be no service at this time. The family hope that in the summer we can hold a memorial and celebration of life.
