Bruce ROBINSON

Obituary of Bruce Grant ROBINSON

ROBINSON, Bruce Grant
June 4, 1957 – April 3, 2021

Bruce Robinson of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at the age of 63 years.

Bruce was born in Port Alberni, BC on June 4, 1957. He moved to Calgary as a young man with a passion for theater and a drive to open his own theater production company, F&D Scene Changes that still thrives today. Bruce married Lisa Goueffic in July of 1994 and raised three terrific boys Matt, Colin, and Jack. They were his life before and especially after the passing of his wife. Bruce has left a legacy of love and generosity that his children hope to pass onto others. Bruce and Lisa will always be remembered and dearly missed by their children.

For forty years Bruce remained truly passionate and creative with every production and became a titan of the theater industry. With the right people beside him and an excellent work ethic he built his company into something he was truly proud of that was recognised worldwide. He was a part of multiple award-winning show productions. He brought technical experience and a keen eye to any production he was involved in. His legacy will always be remembered at F&D Scene Changes.

He grew up in an active family in Powell River that loved the outdoors. They camped, hiked, fished, and spent time at the cabin. Being the only boy among three sisters he taunted them with frogs, fish, and snakes and made sure only approved friends made it even near the sisters. His mom and dad, Jean and Grant, always talked of his accomplishments and were proud of the man he became.

In his later years you could find him in his favourite chair watching sports with his kids, in the back yard elbow deep in the garden, or the occasional rip around in the mustang. Bruce was adored by younger generations. He was always there to listen to their problems and gave sound advice while knowing when it was okay to bend the rules. It wasn’t just the younger generations but anyone who took the time would discover a kind, caring, generous, soul who respected everyone but would casually tell you to f**k off.

Bruce’s sense of humor, kind heart and beautiful soul will forever be missed by all of those who knew him.
