Obituary of Paulina Rivera MADRIAGA

Paulina Madriaga, beloved wife of Faustino Madriaga, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the age of 73 years.

Paulina was born in Ilocos Norte, Philippines on June 6, 1947. She immigrated to Canada in 2004 from the Philippines. Paulina married Faustino Madriaga in 1963. Paulina accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of helping people in the Philippines, friends and families. Paulina always put others first before herself. Paulina enjoyed travelling with her family and going back to the Philippines whenever she could to visit friends and relatives. Paulina’s most memorable vacation was when she went on a long road trip to the United States of America. She enjoyed going to the beach and found crabs to cook for dinner! She will be most remembered for her kindness and welcoming personality. She kept her doors open both in Canada and the Philippines to anyone that needs a place to stay and made sure that you do not leave her home hungry!

Besides her loving husband Faustino, Paulina is survived by her one daughter and son-in-law, Josie Acierda and Ben Acierda of Calgary, AB; four sons and four daughters-in-law, Faustino Madriaga JR., Edelson Madriaga, Roberto Madriaga, and Juvilyn Madriaga, Charity Madriaga, Ederlina Madriaga, and Dalia Madriaga of Calgary, AB and Hawaii; seven grandchildren, Mark Dale, Mark Anthony, Geraldine, Lindsay, Krisha, Ashley, and Michelet of Calgary, AB and Hawaii; five great-grandchildren, Athens-Ava, Kassie Isabelle, Francheska, Francis, and Francine of Calgary, AB and Hawaii. Paulina is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Paulina was predeceased by her son Nestor Madriaga.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
