Obituary of Perpetua SANTOS

Perpetua Santos, beloved wife of Americo Santos of Calgary, AB passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at the age of 84 years.

Perpetua was born in Paúl, Portugal. She was the kindest, loving, most gentle soul you could ever meet and would always help someone in need. She worked for many years at the Westin Hotel and then Trail Appliances.

Her passion was flowers. She loved making beautiful silk flowers, creating flower arrangements and spending time in her garden. She also enjoyed listening to music and dancing. Perpetua adored and was so proud of her five grandchildren.

Besides her loving husband, Americo Santos, Perpetua is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Carlos and Lori Santos of Calgary, AB; Danny and Michelle Santos, of Airdrie, AB; daughter and son-in-law, Bella and Derek Ballendine of Calgary, AB; and five grandchildren, Anthony and Michael Santos of Calgary, AB, Marcus and Madi Santos of Airdrie AB, and Daniel Ballendine of Calgary AB. She is also survived by her two brothers and sisters-in-law, Herminio and Encarnação; José and Lisete, all of Portugal. 

Perpetua was predeceased by her mother and father, Maria and Antonio; four brothers, Eduardo, Augusto, Julio and Alberto; and sisters, Beatrice and Gloria. 

“Perpetua was an angel. Trying hard to be of help to just about anyone. Now I get to have a guardian angel watch over me. Without her I don’t know what I would do.”

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Eastside, 5388 Memorial Drive NE, Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
