Obituary of Elaine Ethel JENSEN

February 24, 1945 – Edmonton, Alberta
April 18, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Elaine Jensen, beloved wife of the late Gordon Duthie, of Edmonton, AB, passed away in Calgary on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at the age of 76.

Elaine was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, on February 24, 1945.

Elaine accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of family.  Elaine also was an amazing cook and baker as she hosted many family events.  Another of her greatest achievements includes her many close friendships, some of whom were met through quilting.  These museum quality quilts are one of Elaine’s legacies that are cherished and used by her family, including beloved pet for the last twelve years, Crystal.

Elaine enjoyed many memorable vacations including her trips to New York, Disney, and Peru. These trips included sightseeing, walking, and shopping.

She will be most remembered for her caring of others and beautiful humour.

Elaine is survived by her two daughters, Cathleen Copeland of Vancouver, BC, and Brenda Hewko of Chestermere, Alberta; son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Denise Lister of Calgary, Alberta; three grandchildren, Chad Copeland of Coquitlam, BC, MacKenzie Lister and Lauren (Aero) Lister of Calgary, Alberta. Elaine is also survived by her brother Wayne Jensen of Surrey, BC, two sisters and one brother-in-law, June Jensen of Vernon, BC, and Joy Jensen and Wally Fleischhacker of Kelowna, BC; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Elaine was predeceased by her spouse, Gordon Duthie, and parents, Doris and Nels Jensen.   

A Private Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
