Obituary of Karl KUNDERT

Karl Kundert of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the age of 91 years.

Karl was born in Hilda, AB on November 3,1929. He loved to be outside in his garden and enjoyed fishing. He was an avid crib player and competitive card player and bowler. Karl will be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. 

Karl is survived by his son Kelvin Kundert of Vancouver, BC, two daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Larry Monaghan of Calgary, AB, and Betty and Allan Torsky of Vancouver, BC; three grandchildren, Colleen Monaghan (Jean Francois Belanger) of Cap Sante, QC, Patrick (Kerry,) Monaghan of Ottawa, ON and Sean (Marielle) Monaghan of Calgary, AB; and six great-grandchildren, Cedric Belanger of Cap Sante, QC, Jack Monaghan of Ottawa, ON, Owen Belanger of Cap Sante, QC, Charlotte Monaghan of Ottawa, ON, Elena Monaghan of Calgary, AB and Keanu Monaghan of Calgary, AB. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Isabelle (Camile) Morissette, Kathy (Chuck) Kluss and Joyce Frey; as well as many extended family and friends.

Karl was predeceased by his wife Lorene Kundert (nee Frey), son Larry Kundert, mother Magdelina Kundert (nee Maser), father Henry Kundert, five brothers, John Kundert, Christian Kundert, Theodore Kundert, Jack Kundert and William Kundert; and three sisters, Carrie Stuart, Ella Neubauer and Clara Neubauer.

A Private Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here. A Private Graveside will be held at Hillside Cemetery. 

The family would like to thank the staff at AgeCare Walden in Calgary and Chinook Village in Medicine Hat for the care and support they showed Karl.
