Condolences
It’s a long time ago since 1951 when we first arrived in Canada. Soon after our arrival my sister Nell met Peter Oevering. I was only six then and he was very tall! The romance ensued, and they married in 1953. Just before Queen Elizabeth was crowned. I always considered Nell the Queen in our family and Pete the prince! Well I was just wee little then! There are good memories of family meals together, opening gifts at Christmas time and so on. My oldest nephew was only 10 years older than I was. Wondered where he all of a sudden came from! A miracle. Was so proud of him! And all the miracles that followed! Remember playing with Nick, then Mary Ann, David and Agia. When I was old enough babysat them all!!! So glad many good memories with you all and your dad and mom. We shall miss Pete. May God comfort you all as you reflect on the memories of your dad! Much love Paul, Nick, Mary Ann, David, and Agia and your spouses and families. Tried phoning you all! Love Auntie Eda
Grandpa,
He was an amazing man in so many different ways. He gave me the opportunity to have a father figure in my life and always took care of me the best he could. He taught me resilience and to always be stronger than what I was yesterday. I will forever appreciate the love he gave me and my family. Yes, he probably personal offended each and every one of us at some point in our lives, but he would always make up for it by showing his love in unique ways.
I always looked up to you grandpa, from the moment I was born. It will be a different world without you, but I know that you will be looking over us where you are. I will miss you saying “hello dear” every time I would walk in the door, your big ginormous hugs, your comical laughter and our phone calls we had. Grandpa you were my favourite guy! I love you and miss you.
My condolences to Paul, Nick, Mary-Ann, David and Agia and your families. I remember Uncle Pete with fondness. He was gruff and had strong opinions but he was still interesting. I have many fond memories of time spent with your family when we were growing up. Trips to BC, monopoly games at your house etc. So sorry Covid keeps us from celebrating both your parent's passing together.

Agia (Steve) and all of their families. We had many family events and occasions where we had the opportunity to spend time with both Peter and Nellie. I will always remember them both with great affection and fondness. Rest In Peace, Peter, with your beloved Nell.
