Obituary of Larissa (Duxie) Laine BAPTISTE

September 9, 1984 – Calgary, Alberta
April 24, 2021 – Morley, Alberta

Larissa (Duxie) Laine Baptiste was called home by our Creator on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the age of 36 years.

Duxie was a generous, kind, and loving soul, making those that she came into contact with feel at ease in her presence. She received her schooling from Exshaw and Canmore. She enjoyed dancing and did dance a few seasons with her cousin/sister Julene. She loved her children and family so much, wanting the best for her beloved children, siblings, family and friends.

She was someone you could count on to be there; she had dreams and aspirations of one day getting married, walking in the ocean and swimming with dolphins. Duxie loved all kinds of music, but Bone Thugs and Harmony was her balm, she was lovingly teased about her love for BT&H. She had a simple style that could be seen as classy and beautiful. She will be forever loved and remembered.

Duxie is survived by her beloved children, Mekhi, Alex, Mason, Maddison, and Zoey; paternal loving grandmother Irene Baptiste, special grandmother Eva Baptiste, special uncle/grandfather Delmar (Angie) Holloway, and special grandmother Linda Little Chief, special mom Melanie Cheechoo, special dad, Charlie Crawler (Arlisa), sisters, Bonnie (Skylar), Savannah, Marcella, Maria (Carlin), Carrie, Charlize, and Clarissa; brothers, Marcel (Sharly), James, Marcus, Nicholas, and Noah; her close special cousins, Cornelia Amos, Eric Holloway, Riley Holloway, Julene Crawler, Clint Crawler, Wade Crawler, Allen Crawler, and Kathy Salter;
special friends, Krysta Beaver, Lacey Labelle, and Cleo Labelle.

She is also survived by her auntie Irene Crawler (Donnie), auntie Debbie Baptiste, uncle Harvey Baptiste (Cecilia), uncle Henry Baptiste (Deborah), auntie Carol Holloway, auntie Charlene Stephens. Duxie is also survived by nieces, nephews, and close cousins/relatives too numerous to mention.

Duxie was predeceased by her Love, Justin Simeon, and her loving parents, Deanna Crawler and Marcel Baptiste; maternal grandparents, Alma Crawler and Albert Amos; paternal grandfather Sam Baptiste, special grandfather Roy Little Chief, auntie Martha Crawler, uncles Bud Crawler, Ferlin Crawler; and cousins, Conredge, Monty, and Rula Holloway, Krystal Stephens, Ian Big Crow, and Andre Amos. She was also predeceased by her brother Christopher. Please forgive us if we have left anyone out.
