POWER, Sheila (nee Maxwell)
1935 - 2021

Sheila was born in Lancashire, England, in 1935. In the early 1960’s she joined the RCAF with her friends Phyllis and Kate. While nursing at an RCAF Station in Manitoba, she met and married her husband, Clark.  After leaving the RCAF, Sheila worked as a registered nurse at Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary until she changed fields to Gerontology.  Sheila spent the remainder of her career at Kerby Centre championing seniors’ rights and spearheading programs to help seniors. Sheila loved her family, traveling, dogs, and trying new things. 

Sheila is survived by her daughters, Karoline (Greg) and Beverley (Kelvin); grandchildren, Chelsea (Paul), Courtney (Andrew), Bailey (Dawson), Mackenzie (Anne); great-granddaughters, Lilah, Brielle, and Grace; and nephews, Jim (Jennette), John (Susan), and Kevin (Fran).  Sheila was predeceased by her parents, Beatrice and Reginald, and her husband Clark.
