Obituary of Helen Mae ZIELKE (nee Smith nee Lacey)

Helen Mae Zielke, beloved wife of Melvin (Mel) Zielke, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at the age of 83 years.

She leaves to mourn her husband and best friend Mel, four children, Bob (Joyce) Lacey, Julia Lacey (Clark McLean), Wendy (Steve) Anderson and Janice (Warren) Oliver; seven much loved grandchildren, Jena, Brianna (Jaydin), Ryan (Alyssa), Nicole (Dwayne), Kristin (Alan), Jordan (Felicia) and Alissa; and twenty much cherished great-grandchildren. 

She was predeceased by her parents, James and Grace; father-in-law August, mother-in-law Ida, her brother Gerry, sisters, Marge and Joyce; brothers-in-law, Lloyd, Earl and Denis; sister-in-law Loreen and step-daughter Tammy.

She is survived by brothers-in-law, Cliff Mitschke of Calgary, AB, and Raymond Zielke (Doreen) of Chemainus, BC; sisters-in-law, Marge (Robert) of Fort Qu’Appelle, SK, Eleanor of Lampman, SK, and Jenny (Nick) of Calgary, AB; and special friend Beverley Brown. She leaves five stepchildren and spouses and seven step-grandchildren, ten step-great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

A Private Funeral Service will be held on, Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., with a Graveside Service to follow. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
