Obituary of Jeanette Elaine JOHNSTON

March 23, 1964 – Edmonton, Alberta

May 9, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with deep sadness we announce that Jeanette Johnston passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at the age of 57years, after a brief but aggressive battle with Cancer.

A beautiful and brilliant soul, Jeannette was the beacon of her family. Someone they could turn to with any and every question. Always the problem solver she would undoubtedly find the answer.

Though her time with us was brief, she filled it with as many memoires and experiences as she could. Her kind and gentle ways insured she was always at the center of every occasion.

Jeannette met her childhood sweetheart Dan Johnston when they were just teenagers in the Jr. High. They married on September 24th, 1983 and started a life together. Jeanette quickly found work within the federal government and excelled at any task put to her. In January 1985 she welcomed her first and only child Trisha. An adoring daughter, Trisha was never far from her side.

Ultimately Jeanette made her home in Calgary where she was able retire and enjoy life with her family. Camping and gardening, she loved being outside. Inheriting her mother’s green thumb she could get anything to grow and was always proud to walk you through her garden and show you what was sprouting.

Jeanette will be sorely missed by her husband Dan Johnston, daughter Trisha Johnston, grandson Duncan Holeton and son-in-law Dan Holeton; her brother David Bauer;  sisters, Brenda Sorensen and Holly Bowman, her in-laws Garry and Christine Johnston ; as well as Debbie and Wayne Young. She will also be missed by her nieces and nephews, Rishelle Tarr, Weston Roberts, Gavin Johnston and Cassandra Johnston; as well as countless other friends and acquaintances.

Jeanette  joins her mother and father Elenore and Alvin Bauer; and her mother and father-in-law, Gloria and Duncan Johnston.
