Obituary of Gabriel Teofil CAITA

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the sudden passing of Gabriel Caita of Calgary, on May 16, 2021 at the age of 53. 

Gabriel was born in Baia Mare, Romania. He graduated as a geologist from the University Alexandru Ioan Cuza in Iasi, Romania. Gabriel and his family immigrated to Canada in 2000 and moved to Calgary in 2001. He was a warm and joyful person that loved life to its fullest, he cherished spending time with his children, and he was the rock of the house. His passion for history and travelling to his favorite island on earth, Kefalonia in Greece, were Gabriel’s favorite things to do. He had the biggest heart in the world, always there for anyone that needed him. He loved cooking for his family and friends, making everyone happy and welcome. 

Gabriel will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 30 years, Manuela, children Marilyn and James, parents Irina and Teofil and brother Alin, as well as numerous other family members and friends. 

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at St. John Chrysostom Russian Orthodox Church (14608 Macleod Trail, Calgary, AB) on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.  Graveside Service to follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
